This Vodka honors the past while representing the future.
Two James, founded in 2012, is the first legal distillery in Detroit since Prohibition. You read that right, Detroit was (legal) distillery-free since 1933, for nearly 100 years! But then there came along David Landrum, who thought his home city and his favorite city in the world, the great city of Detroit, deserves some nice handcrafted, locally-made, community-building Spirits.
Two James is all about supporting everything local, sticking together, and honoring the past. One case of honoring the history is the Two James 28 Island Vodka, named after the 28 islands on the Detroit river that were the main reason the fine people of Detroit could enjoy any Spirits at all during Prohibition. Conveniently located directly between the States and Canada, bootleggers would use the islands as a hiding place for the hooch before bringing it to the USA. To commemorate the place, Two James named one of their finest Spirits after the 28 islands.
Carefully crafted from 70% corn and 30% organic winter wheat, the outstanding 28 Island Vodka is distilled in a hybrid still before being bottled at 41% ABV. By using the plates in the column still, Two James is able to achieve the smoothest profile imaginable. Combine this with the carefully selected organic base that gives the Spirit a perfectly balanced flavor profile, and you get one extraordinary Vodka.
