A limited edition estate-grown edition of The Macallan made just once per year.
Founded in 1824, The Macallan is one of the "Big 3" Single Malts in Scotland. Fortunately, they have achieved this scale without sacrificing quality. A change in UK labeling laws aced them out of their "Speyside" designation. But just because the British Parliament gerrymandered the "official" boundaries doesn’t mean Whisky-lovers have to pay any attention.
Their achievements are numerous — including setting the record price ever paid at auction for a single bottle of Scotch. They produce a very broad range of world-class Single Malt Whiskies that have a huge global following.
In the highlands the River Spey bends and twists around barley fields and the town of Craigellachie. One of these bends wraps lovingly around the Easter Elchies Estate — the ancestral home of The Macallan and where The Macallan Visitor Experience sits today. One week per year, The Macallan takes the barley harvest from the estate and creates their limited edition release of The Macallan Estate Single Malt Scotch Whisky. It’s how The Macallan was made at the start, using the local barley harvest and terroir that is the soul of the place.
*This bottle is a collector’s item; we will not be able to entertain any refunds or exchanges.
**Individual orders are limited to one item per person, as we wish to give everyone the opportunity to participate.
***Any kind of transit damage is insured and will be reimbursed.
Appearance / Color
Warm Chestnut
Nose / Aroma / Smell
The aroma is satisfying on its own with warm notes of cinnamon, flamed orange zest, old wood, and vanilla.
Flavor / Taste / Palate
The flavor profile is classic Macallan with Sherry-infused notes of raisins, fig, and orange marmalade over oak and brittle toffee.
Finish
The finish is pleasantly long with a lingering flavor of Terry’s chocolate oranges.
