Whatever we wrote about this treasure wouldn't be splendid enough. The Macallan In Lalique 62 Year Old celebrates Easter Elchies House, its spiritual home built in 1700 for Captain John Grant of Elchies. The decanter's Art Nouveau frosted surface represents the manor's façade, while the bottle's neck pays homage to the gable that leads up to the chimney.
The Whisky within is of opulent cherry hue and offers an exquisite bouquet with notes of treacle, blood orange, apple, chocolate, and cinnamon. On the palate, this sexagenarian brings flavors of dried fruits, raisin, ginger, figs, oak, and cigar leaf. The finish is long and exuberant. The sheer extravagance.
