Meet the iconic American brand that survived many highs and lows in its rich history, including the notorious Prohibition era. It was in 1874 when M.W. Heron asked himself the question: Why does Whiskey have to be so harsh? Couldn’t it be smooth, easygoing, and simply delicious? As true innovators do, Heron took matters into his own hands and created a recipe blending stone fruits and spices. An iconic American taste was born, originally under the name “Cuffs and Buttons”. Heron eventually renamed it “Southern Comfort”, which was probably good thinking. This quintessential American Whiskey even won the Gold medal at the historic 1900 Paris Exposition and today, nearly 150 years later, Southern Comfort is still a one-of-a-kind brand of premium Whiskey, Bourbon, and Liqueurs that are just downright delicious.
Southern Comfort Original is their core offering and a super approachable sipper that’s insanely smooth and touches your taste buds in all the right places with a hint of sweetness and spice and everything nice. It won 86 points at the 2021 Ultimate Spirits Challenge, so you know it’s not just us who love it. You’ll find yourself going back to this one as it’s as versatile as it gets: savor it neat, on the rocks, or make yourself your favorite cocktail. If you’re in the market for cocktail inspo, check out their website for recipe of Comfort & Cola, Bloodi Mardi, or Frozen Hurricane.
