If you’ve ever been out in a bar, you’ve probably heard of Smirnoff Vodka. Founded in Moscow by Pyotr Arsenievich Smirnov in 1864, this is one of the top-selling Vodkas in the world. And while you might associate it only with the young crowd sippin’ on those Cape Codders in trendy clubs, this a truly premium Vodka with an incredibly rich heritage. Plus, what sets it apart from other Vodka brands is the traditional charcoal filtration method developed by P.A. Smirnoff: it has to be filtered at least 5 times to reach its exceptional smoothness. Today, the brand is owned by Diageo and sold in over 100 countries.
Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka is their flagship offering and it’s been around for a while, actually. Since the late 19th century, to be exact, when it was named "Table Wine No. 21" as part of the selection of ‘numbered’ vodkas of various grades. Russian peasants and Czars both liked to enjoy a sip. This famous recipe is known today as Smirnoff Recipe No. 21. Made from non-GMO corn, this triple distilled and 10-times filtered kosher and gluten-free Vodka delivers robust flavors and a dry finish at an ultimately smooth and clear palate. It was awarded a Gold medal at the 2019 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and a Double Gold medal at the 2019 Las Vegas Global Spirit Awards. Enjoy it neat or mix your favorite drink. We’d probably go with the classic Moscow Mule.
