Ever wondered what America’s first cocktail was? Wonder no more: it was the Sazerac, invented in the Sazerac Coffee House in New Orleans, Louisiana, to where this rare creature traces its roots.

The year 2020 marked the 20th anniversary of Buffalo Trace Distillery’s Antique Collection. A commemorative bottling at 90 proof, Sazerac Rye 18 Year-Old was distilled in the spring of 2002. A Straight Rye with a double-digit age statement is a rare phenomenon in itself, but with this particular collection? They’re nearly impossible to get.
