Samaroli Caribbean Rum 2003

70 years of spirited passion and experience poured into a Rum bottle.

Silvano Samaroli is a bit of a legend. He was born in Italy, but fell in love with fine Scotch Whisky at a very young age. He educated his palate and — in 1968 — started buying individual casks of the good stuff and crafting his own blend. At the time he was the only non-UK person doing it. His superior taste and skill helped him build a solid reputation and grow his super-premium Scotch business.

About 10 years ago he fell in love with Rum and followed the same winning formula of learn, blend, succeed.

Note that the Samaroli Caribbean Rum label just says “Caribbean.” That’s because he chooses casks from the entire region, including Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Venezuela, and even Cuba. He then ships these casks to Scotland where he ages them next to his Whiskies for 7 years. Aging in the cooler climate makes his Rum smoother, and some say more refined. But everyone agrees that they’re unique and we think that every Rum-lover needs to put this on his or her bucket list. Each release is extremely limited — often with less than 1000 bottles each — so wait not.
