The Canadian Smoky Rye.
The T-Rex Distillery is the result of the hard work of a family of proud German-Canadians that operate many successful businesses throughout Canada. Every successful business needs to follow certain rules, of course. For these guys it’s all about "keeping it as local as possible", "keeping it sustainable" and "keeping it honest". We’d say these are pretty important, yep. What about the name, you might ask. Well, after the family took a very exciting trip to the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller, Alberta, they were totally mesmerized by their famous Black Beauty T-Rex fossil. Plus, Alberta was home to countless species of dinosaurs. So there you have it. They really like dinosaurs, too, not just fine Whiskey.
They call their Sabertooth Rye Whisky “Smoky Rye”. Crafted from 100% Canadian rye grain, it’s matured with a next-gen aging method. The flavor profile of this small-batch Whiskey brings a very classic Canadian rye taste with supporting roles of oak and smoke, ending on a very pleasant butterscotch note.
