Master Distiller Jimmy has been helming the Wild Turkey Distillery since 1954 and the man, who has reportedly never been drunk, is a real Bourbon aristocrat. This time, they hand-picked the best barrels of Rye Whiskey after at least six years of aging. What ended up in the bottle is pure poetry of almond, pepper and allspice flavors. Russell's Reserve 6 YO Small Batch Rye Whiskey is, first of all, a mouthful, but mostly a top-notch Spirit made using an ancient recipe. The aforementioned barrels are American oak charred with a #4 char (yes, the famous alligator category). The Whiskey is bottled by hand and is one of the top six Rye Whiskies (according to Drink Spirits). Earning the Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition is also something worth mentioning.
