Royal Salute is born in the Strathisla Distillery—the oldest continuously operating distillery in Scotland—founded in 1786. The Chivas Brothers—purveyors of gourmet foods and Liqueurs since 1801—received a royal warrant to supply fine Scotch Whisky to Queen Victoria at Balmoral Castle in 1843. No pressure, right?

Recognizing that they would need a consistent supply of very high-quality malt Whisky, they decided to take charge and blend it themselves, and Strathisla was their source. Today, Royal Salute is one the most popular Scotch Whisky brands in the world and produce a range of Whiskies for a world-wide audience.

Royal Salute 21 Year The Polo Estancia Edition was released as part of their new range that honors iconic polo destinations. This particular bottling goes out to Argentina a.k.a. ‘Home of polo’. The Master Blender finished Royal Salute 21 Year Old in casks that previously held premium Argentinian Malbec Wine — coming from the high altitude ‘boutique terroir’ of Cafayate, you can recognize the Wine by its deep color and intensely fruity flavors. The final result is rich and sweet with spicy cinnamon, plum jam, and dark chocolate ginger sweet. Top-shelf stuff.
