This Rum is literally bananas!

Ron Colón quickly became the most awarded and innovative rum out there and is on a mission to showcase different flavors, industries, and processes; blending various styles to create new spirit experiences. RCS is committed to bridging history and continents in one bottle.

The inspiration for Ron Colón Red Banana Oleo Rum came from red banana trees on a coffee farm in El Salvador. When their brand ambassador Steph DiCamillo created a global success for her cocktail company using RCS Dark Aged Rum, homemade banana oleo saccharum, chocolate, and tiki bitters, Eric van Beeck and Danil Nevsky showed them how to make a good banana oleo syrup and the soft and sweet bananas with a hint of raspberry were just perfect for that. So, the good RCS guys mixed their Dark Aged Rum with maceration and distillate of dried bananas and fresh banana peels, plus some sugarcane syrup to make a crazy good Rum concoction. Make a Banana Old Fashioned, Banana Daquiri, or Banana Iced Cream Coffee and blow your friends’ taste buds away!

I love rum and there are some wonderful bottles available. This Ron Colón Red Banana
Oleo Rum was one of the selections and I don’t normally but a flavored rum, but I thought I’d give it a go. When it arrived, I was intrigued by the pink bottle and the extras added to the outside. Didn’t take long to uncork and set up a straight tasting versus an iced stone tasting. Oh my my. I was beyond pleasantly surprised. It is a very smooth and complex rum. The banana isn’t overpowering and adds just the right amount of sweetness. It is wonderful just as a sipping rum; and I can totally see it used to enhance frozen concoctions. It is worth the try because once you have it, you’re gonna go bananas for it.

Now to acquire a second and third bottle!

The only Full Star review ever given

I will start with the fact that when I picked up this bottle, I chose it because it was the only 10 Star bottle I had seen, at the time anyway. Took some time to open it, but now that I have, I see why it was 10 stars, and don't see why there are any less. So smooth. Flavor of the banana really shines through. Great mixed in anything from a daiquiri to pineapple juice. Even sipping with ice. Truly versatile.
