One Rum, two continents, three barrels, and twenty-two years — it’s a Rum love story across space and time.
Plantation Rum is owned by French Cognac producer Maison Ferrand, who control no less than a dozen major brands of premium Spirits and Liqueurs. Ferrand is all about quality — and you can taste it. Plantation Rum is their top shelf Rum label. And mighty good stuff it is, too. They offer a variety of Rums from the Caribbean. Depending on the specific actual plantation and the country of origin, the Rums can vary between soft and aromatic to light and elegant — each one showing the experienced influence of Maison Ferrand.
Trinidad sits at the southeastern edge of the West Indies. Nearly 4300 miles away, Islay sits off the west coast of Scotland in the North Atlantic. Plantation Trinidad 1997 Single Cask 2019 connects these two exotic lands.
Each year, Plantation Rum issues limited edition Rums in their Single Cask series. Each is unique… impossible to recreate. Plantation Trinidad 1997 Single Cask 2019 aged fifteen and a half years in the tropics in ex-Bourbon casks, then another six years in France in Ferrand Cognac casks, and THEN it finished for four months in Kilchoman Peated Islay Whisky casks. If you’re counting, that’s three different casks and nearly twenty-two years. Just imagine the possibilities.
