If Frank Sinatra had a favorite Tequila, this would be it.
Partida Tequila is an up-and-coming Tequila maker, and they are making some muy bueno stuff. They named the company after the late Enrique Partida, a well respected blue agave farmer from the Tequila Valley in the heart of Jalisco. Partida Tequila’s Maestro Tequilero (Tequila Master) Jose Valdez oversees every step of the production process, from agave harvesting in the field till the final blending prior to bottling.
Partida produces a range of four Tequilas; a Blanco, a Reposado, an Añejo, and their top of the line Eleganté. All of them with a subtle, light sweetness that they are famous for.
At Flaviar, we get to taste a lot of great Spirits. Hey… it’s a tough job, but we all suffer through it for you. Anyway, Partida Tequila Reposado is kind of special. They age it for the standard six months like all Reposados, but in Jack Daniel’s casks. That’s the unique part. So along with the classic earthy fruit profile of a great Tequila, you also get the vanillas and tangy sweet character of good ‘ol Jack in the background.
Make no mistake… this is definitely a fine Tequila. But that special cask aging adds a really hip complexity that makes it stand out. And the Jack Daniels tie in is undeniable, so if Frank Sinatra had a favorite Tequila, this would be it. Uncle Flaviar has taken a few drams for himself and started singing “My Way” in the hallway. You should've seen it.
