Heaven Hill Distillers is unique. They are one of the oldest and largest Bourbon distillers in the world, they have the second largest standing inventory of aging Bourbon, and they have grow to become the seventh largest supplier of spirits in the US. The good folks at Heaven Hill responsible for the Old Fitzgerald brand continue to impress us. They’ve had a string of these limited “Bottled-in-Bond” releases — each one better than the one before it. First there was the nine year-old, then the eleven year-old, and now we have Old Fitzgerald Bottled-In-Bond 13 Year Old. This biannual release arrives each year in the Spring and Fall, and it’s a bit different each time. This beauty — with a green label signifying Spring 2019 — is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). The mash bill has no rye — it’s 75% corn, 20% wheat, and 5% malted barley — making this dram smooth as can be.
