Nikka Yoichi Non-Peated Single Malt 2021 Edition

We've come to love Nikka Whisky for its prestigious peatiness that comes from Hokkaido's particular climate, where the Yoichi Distillery is situated. Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka, Father of Japanese Whisky (not sure if also First of his name), studied Scotch-crafting in Scotland on a kind of scholarship. Upon returning, he started the "Great Japanese Juice Company" while setting up his Whisky operation. The rest is pretty much history.

The "Discovery Series" honors Nikka's specific distillation process and its crucial components. The first to-be-annual expression 2021 is a complete 180° from the brand's usual famous smokiness. Only non-peated malts mingle in the exquisite 20,000 bottles released. Take a walk on the breezier side of Whisky, stop and smell the fruity aroma with hints of honey, savor the sweetness announced by the citrus. The trip has a long, rich finish.
