Liquid Assets Collective is a distributor of premium Spirits. They’re located on the north side of San Francisco Bay in San Rafael. They are registered importers and distributors. If you are having a tough time getting a Spirit into the American market, Liquid Assets Collect specializes in just that. And that tells you a lot about how they got their hands on casks of Myrtle Bank Rum.
Myrtle Bank 10 Year Old Jamaican Rum has been around the world. It starts as an estate Spirit produced by the famous Worthy Park Estate Distillery in the heart of Jamaica. It was produced in small batches in 100% copper pot stills. The Spirit was then sent to the UK where it was placed into first-fill Bourbon casks to age for a full decade. Those barrels were then sent to the Treasure Island Distillery in San Francisco Bay where the aged Rum was put unfiltered into those exceptional bottles at a nearly cask strength of 60% ABV.
Smartass Corner:
There are two words that define the taste and aroma of old, unfiltered, aged Jamaican Rums: rancio and hogo. Rancio notes are common in Sherry and are similar to raisins and dried figs. Hogo is a Creole slang of the French term "haut gout" or "high taste." It refers to the savory, somewhat sulfurous aroma of cured leather, certain cave-aged cheeses, and dry-aged meats.
