Mackmyra 1st Edition: The Swedish Whisky That Skied Into Our Hearts!

Ever heard the one about a bunch of Swedes on a ski trip? No, it's not the start of a bad joke, but the birth of Mackmyra Distillery. One frosty evening in 1998, after a few drams of Scotch, they thought, "Hey, why the Sam Hill aren't we making Whisky in Sweden?" And just like that, Mackmyra was born. This world-class distillery is what happens when you mix a dash of innovation, a splash of authenticity, and a whole lot of Swedish pride.

Now, if you're thinking Swedish Whisky is all meatballs and ABBA, think again! Mackmyra 1st Edition Swedish Single Malt Whisky is distilled from 100% Swedish barley (talk about keeping it close to home) and a special Swedish yeast strain called Kronjäst. Double distilled in Scottish-made stills, it's then aged in a medley of casks, including Swedish oak. With notes of rich oak, sweet honey, and a hint of 'Dancing Queen', this Whisky is the Björn Borg of spirits – a true champion.

Similar to Ardbeg 10 year, but...

Similar to Ardbeg 10 year, but a bit lower quality. Less body and less smokiness than the Ardbeg. Similar peatiness and a bit sharper.

Sweet and fruity, notes of peach and apple with some honey. A bit warm, medium long aftertaste
