Charente is a historic town in the Aquitaine region of France — smack dab in the middle of the Grand Champagne Cru of Cognac. As Catherine I. rose from servant to Czarina of Russia and Pope Benedict XIII was enthroned in the Vatican, the House of Rémy Martin was founded on the banks of the Charente River in 1724. They began as a trading house run by Paul-Emile Rémy Martin. Today it’s one of the world’s largest and most illustrious Cognac houses with a dozen core offerings and many special releases and limited editions.
This is the ultimate glam dram, treasured by connoisseurs, royalty, glitterati, rappers… this Cognac is a true masterpiece, every drop brimming with opulence. To make Louis XIII, Rémy Martin Master Blenders harvest only the most exceptional grapes from the Grande Champagne cru, distilled “on lees,” a technique that imparts a more robust character to the final spirit.
Forget about raising the bar, Louis XIII is the bar.
Their eau de vie is aged in French Limousin oak casks charred and formed to the exact specifications necessary for crafting LOUIS XIII. The liquid undergoes a dynamic aging process, where it’s transferred to older and older barrels, moving from one cellar to the next creating the most balanced climate for aging.
The traditional Louis XIII Cognac is a stunning alchemy, a flawless blend of over 1,200 different types of Grand Champagne eaux-de-vie married together, with the youngest eau-de-vie being 40 years old and the oldest being over 100 years old (a longer lifespan than 99% of the human population). This seemingly infinite aging process is stewarded by at least three generations of Rémy Martin cellar masters.
Expect ethereal notes of refined, nectar-rich opulence. With over 250 distinct flavors to discover, this Cognac is one hell of a trip for your taste buds.
