Los Siete Misterios Tobala Mezcal

The mission given to the Mestre Bros. by the Gods of Mezcal back in 2010 was to create a Spirit that represents and honors the ancient customs, culture, and passion of Mezcaleros. For years, they scoured Oaxacan villages to find their perfect match, and one day, they found a local Maestro who still used traditional techniques handed down from abuelos.

Los Siete Misterios Mezcal is made with Maguey Tobalá—a tiny plant that requires more harvesting than your usual agaves just to produce a small batch. They cook it in underground ovens, hand-mill it with wooden mallets, and distill it in old-school clay pots. Is it worth it? You bet your sweet glass it is: just by using Tobalá, this offering is gorgeous, rare, and unique. It’s savory, sweet, and spicy, with an unforgettable finish that lingers and lingers.
