Gold isn’t just a color—it’s a symbol of craft, rarity, and prestige. This box brings together three time-honored spirits that represent the pinnacle of tradition and quality. From France’s elegant eaux-de-vie to Irish whiskey steeped in myth to a distinctive Highland malt, each bottle delivers richness beyond measure.
Martingale Cognac is the debut release for Maison Thomas, a fourth-generation family of Cognac producers who have spent more than a century refining exceptional eaux-de-vie behind the scenes. Their debut release launched in 2023, delivering a fresher style of Cognac free of additional additives like boisé, and with notes of spring flowers, acacia, vanilla, and sandalwood. With the structure of a great whisky and the aroma of a fine wine, this is Cognac made by and for a new generation.
Finvara The King's Gambit is a mythical Irish whiskey brought to life by Master Distiller David F. Hynes. Made in Fort of Dealgan and triple-distilled in copper pot stills, it's aged in bourbon and Sherry barrels for depth and warmth. Expect smooth caramel, rich oak, dried fruit, and a soft spice finish. A connoisseur’s pour with a whisper of Ireland’s magic.
Loch Lomond 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt crafted using both Straight Neck and Swan Neck stills, a signature of Master Blender Michael Henry’s technique. Aged in three types of American oak—bourbon, refill, and recharred casks—this non-chill filtered whisky offers elegant notes of peach, pear, vanilla, and gentle smoke. Balanced and distinct, it’s a true taste of the Highlands.
SMARTASS CORNER:
-
Martingale uses a rare approach in Cognac production: it contains no added sugar, caramel, or boisé—making it unusually transparent in style.
-
Cognac is made from specific white grapes grown in France’s Cognac region and must be double-distilled in copper pot stills.
-
Grande and Petite Champagne are considered the top crus in Cognac, producing eaux-de-vie with excellent aging potential.
-
Irish whiskey is typically triple-distilled, giving it a smooth, lighter flavor profile compared to Scotch or American whiskey.
-
Finvara is crafted in Fort of Dealgan by Master Distiller David F. Hynes—also a co-founder of Cooley and The Dingle Distillery.
-
Irish whiskey must be aged for at least three years in wooden casks to legally qualify as whiskey under Irish law.
-
Scotch whisky must be distilled in Scotland and aged in oak barrels for a minimum of three years to carry the name.
-
Most Scotch is distilled twice, giving it a richer, more robust character than triple-distilled whiskeys like those from Ireland.
-
Loch Lomond maintains its own cooperage on site, a rare level of barrel control that ensures consistency and innovation.
