A true Chicagoan homage to aperitifs.
KOVAL ("black sheep" in Yiddish) is an extravagant establishment near Lake Michigan, creating organic Whiskey, Liqueurs and specialty Spirits, and get this: it's the first distillery since the mid-1880s in the Windy City. Founded in 2008 by a young couple Robert and Sonat Birnecker, built on the distilling traditions of Robert's Austrian family. They source the grain from the local farmers and do all the magic on-site. They won over 50 different awards and guess what?! We have something beautiful they made.
Three words: Cranberry Gin Liqueur. Made exclusively from ingredients sourced locally, the KOVAL's Gin brings fruity and bittersweet flavors and invites them to a party with thirteen signature botanicals. It's a jubilation of aperitif culture and a wonderful cocktail base for any time of the year (don't get us started on the Spritz or the Cosmo!). If you won't fall in love with its ruby color, you will go nuts for its flavors.
