A traditional Rye with a fancy award to show off.
The original Kentucky Owl Whiskey was made by Charles Mortimer Dedman in the late 1800s. After every drop of this "Wise Man’s Whiskey" in inventory was, ahem… "confiscated" by federal agents under mysterious circumstances at the start of Prohibition, the C.M. Dedman Distillery faded into history. But just a few years ago his great-great-grandson — Dixon Dedman — revived the brand, creating the Kentucky Owl Bourbons and Ryes as small batch, super-premium Spirit blends. Kentucky Owl is developing a cult-like following of fans who wait eagerly for each release. Recently, Four Roses’ chief operating officer and Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Famer John Rhea stepped in Dedman’s shoes.
Hailing from Kentucky, Kentucky Owl The Wiseman Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey is a fantastic traditional Rye Whiskey. It’s made from 95% rye and bottled at precisely 50.4% ABV. This makes you get the most of its distinctly spicy and rich character with rye bread, sweet caramel, and cinnamon notes. It won a Gold Medal at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2022, which is kind of a big deal. Savor it neat or add a few drops of water to open it up more. Or, mix it up and make a traditional rye-based cocktail.
