Keeper’s Heart Irish + American Whiskey Single Barrel Flaviar Member Select

We wanted to find a truly spectacular whiskey for our Flaviar Members, so we sent liquor experts Noah Rothbaum and David Wondrich to the Keeper’s Heart distillery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 

They tasted through a range of barrel samples with the brand’s legendary master distiller Brian Nation, who in his previous position made famous Irish whiskey brands Redbreast, Midleton, Jameson. While it wasn’t an easy choice, the trio settled on an incredible blend of American rye and Irish pot still and grain whiskies, which was then finished in French sauternes wine barrels. In this case the sum is greater than the parts. 

The resulting whiskey has both an incredible depth of rich flavor as well as a real elegance from the wine cask, which adds ethereal notes of honeyed sweetness, apricot, butterscotch and lively citrus.
