Kakira Silver Rum

A complex yet light Rum from Uganda.

Kakira is a town in the Eastern region of Uganda. It’s where the country’s biggest sugar cane factory is located. Kakira Spirits was founded to serve a mission: decrease waste and carbon footprint but also contribute to the production process of their sugar estate that was founded in 1930. All their products are made on the 45,000 acre sugar cane estate that sits right on the shores of Lake Victoria which is the principal source of the River Nile. These guys are incredibly dedicated to the conservation of animal species, the environment, and water. They even created a charitable fund so that a percentage of proceeds of bottle sales can be donated to local charities in Uganda. Plus, their Spirits are of top-notch quality.

Kakira Silver Rum is distilled from the finest sugar cane grown on the Kakira Sugar estate in Eastern Uganda. A pot-distilled Rum, it profits from the fertile land, temperate climate, and unique terrain that all come together to yield a complex and aromatic liquid. This expression is aged Solera-style for at least 30 months in select Bourbon barrels and Spanish Sherry casks. The result is a layered yet light Rum with flavors of vanilla, banana, honey, and coconut that are rounded by a super smooth finish.
