One of the most famous Whisky stories began in 1860 when John “Johnnie” Walker started blending Whiskies in his grocery shop in Ayrshire, Scotland. But what about the story of the “Blue”, though? The famous premium blends first came to life in 1867 when Johnnie’s son created a special blend of the finest Scotch Whiskies one could get – the idea remains the same today.
One of 4 limited-edition releases to celebrate their 200th anniversary, Johnnie Walker Blue Label Legendary Eight features 8 distilleries – each one of them was around in 1820 when the story of Johnnie Walker was only beginning. Some of them ghost distilleries today, the list includes Port Dundas, Carsebridge and Cambus for the single grains, and Brora, Blair Athol, Teaninich, Oban and Lagavulin for the Single Malts. Surely there’s no need to emphasize how incredibly rare this smooth and mellow blend is.
