Seven-Whisky resurrection of silent distilleries.
 
The ambulating gentleman from Kilmarnock who refuses to spell his name correctly released a delightful expression made of rare Whiskies from so-called “ghost” distilleries some time ago. Now, the sequel is here, also sourced from the glorious Johnnie Walker reserves. Master Distiller Jim Beveridge chose a very rare gem for this release as the foundation: the Islay Single Malts from Port Ellen, which closed down in 1983, when Maggie sat on the iron throne.
 
Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare Port Ellen is a smoky, sweet and spicy blend where Port Ellen’s Caledonian and Carsebridge are joined by five additional rarities from Mortlach, Dailvaine, Cragganmore, Blair Athol, and Oban. Vanilla and citrus notes are complemented by maritime smokiness and tropical fruits. When it comes to rare and lush, this seven-Whisky ghost blend is number one.
