Jim Beam quality and profile with a greater depth and power at a value Bourbon fans will crave.

Aside from a short break in production during Prohibition — well, an "official" and "legal" break as far as the government knows — Jim Beam has been producing Bourbon Whiskey since 1795 in Clermont, Kentucky. Since then, an unbroken string of seven generations of the Beam family have worked there. And unless you are a Bourbon newbie, you know that Jim Beam is one of the largest produces of sweet American Whiskey in the world — making and marketing dozens of brands as a subsidiary of Beam Suntory.

Old Tub Bottled In Bond is a limited production run. But if it does well, you can expect it to become a staple for the line. And we have to tell you, this little gem is doing very well. It’s made from Jim Beam's signature mash bill, aged for four years in new oak and bottled unfiltered at 50% ABV. The word you need to focus on here is "unfiltered" — they mean it. In fact, they barely guarantee that you won’t find a wood chip or piece of charred oak in the bottle. But that’s part of the charm. And this little hidden Bourbon is a great value too.

Smartass Corner:
The Boehm family changed their name to "Beam" when they emigrated from Germany. Johannes "Reginald" Beam settled in Kentucky and set up his distillery — which he called "Old Tub" — and sold his Bourbon under the name "Old Jake Beam." The product was renamed "Jim Beam" immediately after Prohibition in honor of the man who fired up the distillery once again.
