Small batches, big hearts.
Ahh, Bourbon. The official drink of freedom, if there ever was one. If there's one distillery that truly deserves to use the word, it's the American Freedom Distillery. It was founded by a group of ex-Special Forces vets ― the first to charge into post-9/11 Afghanistan on horseback. The band of brothers would stick together through thick and thin, braving various conflicts, and eventually tackling another kind of challenge altogether once they settled on a quieter life of Bourbon-making.
Co-founder Scott Neil says that the juice inside the bottle has to be just as exceptional as the story behind it, and this one backs up that claim. The Horse Soldier Signature Small Batch Straight Bourbon Whiskey is crafted with a mash bill of yellow dent corn, soft red winter wheat, and barley, meticulously blended and non-chill filtered. It's got everything a proper Bourbon needs: butterscotch, toffee, fruit, vanilla, and oak. A Whiskey Mule with Horse Soldier sure sounds like it would make a great conversation starter, but if it was us... We'd do the 95-proof juice justice and take it neat or with an ice cube at most. No need to take our word for it, either. This soldier has been officially decorated with some shiny medals as well.
