If normal Highland Park is a 10, then this Single Malt turns it up to 11.

Highland Park is the most northerly distillery in Scotland on the Okrney Islands. Legend has it that it was founded by Whisky smuggler Magnus Eunson in the late 1700s and that he used his position as a church officer to conceal Whisky beneath the church pulpit. Don’t assume that “Highland Park” means their Whisky is made in the Highland style. In character, their spirit is closer to a midpoint between Lowland and Islay Single Malts. Perhaps the most famous Whiskey connoisseur of all time — journalist Michael Jackson — called Highland Park, “The greatest all-rounder in the world of Malt Whisky.”

We have to say right from the start that we were immediately taken by the box — depicting to stacked guitar amplifiers. Highland Park Full Volume was developed in partnership with Saul Davies — music producer and guitarist for the band James. Where Highland Park Single Malts normally have a Sherry Cask influence, 481 first-fill ex-Bourbon casks were filled with Highland Park Single Malt in 1999. They bottled it up this year (2017) at 47.2% ABV, so the flavors are complex, strong, and… delivered at full volume without the static of artificial additives.

It's all about catching a balance when it comes to making music... Making Whisky is no different. It's art...

Smartass Corner:
Highland Park Whiskies are not Highland-style Single Malts even though they have “Highland” in their name. Highland Park gets its name for a city district on the island of Orkney.
