The pure Highland Park Spirit you can enjoy your way.

Situated on the island of Orkney to the west of Kirkwall, HIghland Park is the most northerly distillery in the World. It was founded by Magnus Eunson in the late 18th century, one of many Orcadian smugglers and illicit Whisky producers who rebelled against the heavy excise duties imposed to finance the war with Napoleon. It is said that he used his position as church officer to conceal Whisky beneath the church pulpit. The distillery was licensed in 1826 by Robert Borwick, whose son-in-law, the local Exciseman John Robertson, is generally credited with routing out the smugglers. Highland Park is one of the few distilleries to use hard water. Also unusual is the use of traditional floor maltings for germinating the barley, which is then dried over a fire of local aromatic heather peat. This is the source of the heathery smokiness that is characteristic of Highland Park Whiskies.

Highland Park Cask Strength No. 2 Release presents you their Whisky in its purest form. It’s bottled straight from the cask without adding any water, which means incredible complexity, depth and balance of flavors. It also leaves the space open for you to enjoy it any way YOU want — you can experiment with the amount of water to get your optimal flavor. And the casks in question? Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion chose mostly sherry seasoned European and American oak but also threw a couple of ex-bourbon casks in the mix. Bottled at 63.9%, the folk at Highland Park described this tipple as “smoky pepper praline”.

Such a great representation of cask strength single malt. My favorite whiskies are cask strength peated single malt. This hits every note. The texture isn’t quite as viscous as I would have hoped. But overall a great drinker

Very impressed. Balanced and smooth for the proof. If you enjoy strong rye's this will remind you of one but with true scotch smoke and peat flavors. Not over powering though and changes with multiple sips, in a great way. Amazingly smooth and an absolute steal for the price!

Incredible taste for the strength. Big fan of Highland Park and all that they do. If you’re looking for something on the stronger side, I definitely recommend giving this a shot.
