Growing from a small 250-gallon still and a Saloon in a historic livery stable to an internationally recognized brand with a traditional 1,600-gallon copper pot still, High West distillery celebrates the Old West and Utah's unique Whiskey history.
The High West Rocky Mountain Rye 21YO isn't technically a Rye, since it was aged in used not new barrels — it's just Whiskey distilled from Rye. And it wasn't exactly distilled at High West, but was found in 75 barrels acquired by Master Distiller David Perkins, which were destined to be shipped to Canada for blending. It was distilled at Barton in Kentucky with a mashbill of 53% rye, 37% corn and 10% malted barley. To heck with conventions!
This one comes from Batch No. 6, bottle #264.
