One of the best Bourbon releases of 2020 with a deep, rich palate worth waiting for.
Some argue, but since the original distillery building on this site dates from 1775, most folks consider Buffalo Trace Distillery to be the oldest continually operating distillery in the US. It sits on the banks of the Ohio River in Frankfort, Kentucky, on the same 150 acres — completing 245 years of continuous operation. It even used the "medicinal" loophole to operate during Prohibition. Now owned by Sazerac, its history includes a veritable Who’s-Who of historic Bourbon owners and Master Distillers who continue today to craft some of the finest and most popular Whiskey brands in America.
The George T. Stagg line of Bourbons is one of the top-of-the-line Spirits coming out of the distillery. There is a single release each year and Bourbon fans around the world wait eagerly to get their hands on one of these bottles of precious Kentucky juice.
George T. Stagg Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 2020 Release was distilled in the spring of 2005. It was aged for fifteen years and four months in rickhouses L, K, and Q. The fine folks at Buffalo Trace were kind enough to bottle it for us unfiltered and uncut at 65.2% ABV. And if you need any more information to prompt you to click the "buy" button… well, there’s nothing we can do for you.
*This bottle is a collector’s item; we will not be able to entertain any refunds or exchanges.
**Individual orders are limited to one item per person, as we wish to allow everyone to participate.
***Any kind of transit damage is insured and will be reimbursed.
Appearance / Color
Dark Mahogany
Nose / Aroma / Smell
The aroma is a Bourbon paradise of caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon with a backdrop of cherry cordials.
Flavor / Taste / Palate
Taken neat, the palate is both powerful and deceptively soft with notes of English toffee, toasted oak, caramel apples, Cracker Jacks, and Luxardo cherry.
Finish
The finish is lightly drying with lingering notes of Italian espresso.
