A powerful fourteen year-old sipping Rum with a fruit forward profile that’s of the best Rums so far this year.
The Seale Family has been living and working in Barbados for nearly 370 years. They started making Rum there in 1820, selling wholesale to distributors. Eventually they opened up their own distribution company, allowing them to market premium Barbados Rums under the R. L. Seale brand in the early 1900s. Since then they have developed a range of private brands including Doorly’s, E.S.A. Field, Rum 66, and Old Brigand — all distilled at their historic Foursquare Distillery located on a former sugarcane plantation in the southeast of the island.
Foursquare has been producing a line of premium Rums called Exceptional Cask Selection. Foursquare Nobiliary 14 Year Old Rum is the twelfth release in this limited edition series. It’s nickname "Nobiliary" means "having a noble character," and this fourteen year-old dram lives up to that name. Fourteen years in the Caribbean weather is a LONG time, and this Spirit has spent that time exclusively in ex-Bourbon casks AND it’s bottled at a powerful 62% ABV. It’s an exceptional Rum and an exceptional value.
