McKenzie Whiskey is crafted at New York State Farm Distillery, inspired by the classic style of Scottish Whisky. This is a small operation that crafts handcrafted products with a lot of patience (With zero shortcuts!) and locally grown fruits and grains to make premium spirits. Their range includes traditionally-made Vodkas and Liqueurs that are created by soaking real fruits in the Spirit, Brandy, Grappa, Gin, and Whiskey, which makes up about 80% of their production. They say they’re especially crazy about making the latter and they let it rest in oak barrels for as long as it needs to. They’re also into minimizing waste and they return the spent grains from fermentation for local farmers to use as animal feed.

Finger Lakes Distilling Company McKenzie Pure Pot Still Whiskey is distilled from a mash bill of locally-grown unmalted barley, malted barley, and oats. Aged in their used Bourbon and Rye barrels, it clocks in at a respectable 80 proof. This is an American spin on the traditional Irish-style Single Pot Whiskey. It greets with sweet grain and citrus right away, leading you to a light palate with lemon, caramel, and more of that grain sweetness mingling with pepper.
