A distinctly special Navy Strength Gin, named after a certain steely-eyed Swed.

Far North Spirits was conceived by Michael Swanson and Cheri Reese upon returning home to pursue a simpler life. When "home" is the Red River Valley and a farm that is in its 4th generation of Swansons, producing quality rye and heirloom corn, "a simpler life" can only mean one thing ― distilling some proper Spirits. At the northernmost distillery in the US, we might add. Surrounded by super-fertile soil, nestled in a former wheat field just 25 miles from the Canadian border, they produce craft Gin, Rum, Vodka, and Whiskey ― all using grains they grow themselves.

Gustaf \Goos-tahf\ was a certain forthright and steely-eyed Swed who happened to be the distiller’s great grandfather. This Navy Strength Gin is big and bold with a bracing kick. Just like Gustaf. It’s also surprisingly balanced, crafted with 11 botanicals including lemon, cucumber, and fennel. In the end, a high-proof distilled estate Rye is added to the final bottled Spirit, which imparts its spicy distinctive flavors. At a bold 114 proof, this is a layered juniper-forward Spirit with a big palate that finishes off with notes of white pepper, licorice, zesty notes, and the flavors of earth and sea. Just like the British Navy soldiers used to drink it back in the day.
