Wonderful value and taste in a delightful Tequila aged in new oak for a pure experience.
Destiladora San Nicolas is located in Los Altos — the Highlands of Jalisco Mexico. The deep red, volcanic soil and high altitude has long been considered the best climate for producing great Blue agave. They were founded in 1996, growing quickly by producing their own San Nicolas brand of Tequilas. In 2008 they were purchased by the Campari Group. Now, nearly all production goes into Cabo Wabo and their own El Espolòn line of Tequilas.
It is VERY common for Tequila makers to age their Spirits in used casks. It is so common that most fans just assume that the aging occurred in ex-Bourbon casks — by far the most popular choice. El Espolòn Tequila Reposado is 100% Weber Blue agave Spirit rested in lightly charred NEW American oak casks for 3-5 months. All you taste is the pure agave Spirit. It’s great and a great value. And that’s just us saying so. They have a slew of awards to back it all up.
