Based in Charleston, South Carolina, Grain & Barrel Spirits are merely good samaritans (to quote a certain Cohen brothers character) who develop authentic craft Spirits brands like Chicken Cock Whiskey, Nascar Vodka, and Dixie Vodka and offer them to the grateful Spirits fans. The newest addition to their tasty portfolio? Elvis Whiskey. As in THE Elvis, yeah. Inspired by the king of rock’n’roll and one of the biggest icons of the 20th century, the brand pays homage to the Hound Dog singer with premium Whiskey bottlings from Whisky veterans from his home state of Tennessee.

Elvis The King Straight Rye Whiskey is to Indiana Straight Whiskey what Elvis was to rock’n’roll. With a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, the explosion of flavors of toasted oak, vanilla wafers, butterscotch, and soft pepper, is bound to provoke similar reactions to the ones seen at Elvis’ concerts: fainting from the overwhelming pleasure. Okay, okay, that one might be a tad far-fetched, but seriously, this is some darn good juice.

I am not going to lie, I completely and unashamedly bought this whiskey for the bottle. I am a huge Elvis fan and couldn't resist. I'm here to tell you...RESIST! This stuff is just not good. Very thin, almost no finish. I am having a hard time finding anything redeemable to say about this whiskey. At least the label is cool? I am afraid to even mix it a drink its that bad. Buyer beware. Long live the King
