The taste is in the name: smooth sailing.
Located in Lawrenceburg, Indiana since 1847, MGP Indiana distillery is one of the largest distillery operations in the United States. The building gives off medieval castle fortress vibes with a unique set of column stills that are several stories high and built into brick towers. Owned by Diageo, they produce almost every kind of Spirit you can imagine – until recently, exclusively for some of the top brands in the world, though. Deciding to finally step out of the shadows, MGP Indiana started putting out their own brands. And we’re glad they did.
Eight & Sand is a technical term that basically means smooth sailing. That is, if you’re driving a train. We find it a very fitting name for the experience of sipping this blend of Bourbon and Whiskies, each aged at least 4 years. It didn’t get this name just for its impeccable smoothness, though, it’s also a tribute to the American trail-blazing Spirit and the Transcontinental Railorad – a portion of the proceeds goes to supporting railroad museums. There’s no additives, colors, or flavors, just soft, sweet natural flavors of apple, nutmeg, treacle, and cinnamon.
