Eagle Rare 10 Year Old 1982

The year is 1982. Blade Runner, E.T., and Sophie’s Choice are playing in movie theatres. And while you’re probably shaking it to Michael Jackson’s Thriller with your friends, the folks at the Old Prentice Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, are rather busy. They’re bottling Eagle Rare 10 Year Old.

Created by Seagrams’ master distiller Charles L. Beam in 1975, Eagle Rare is one of the last old Bourbon brands before all the small batch Bourbons came flooding in. Nothing wrong with that, but a tradition like this is hard to beat. Clocking in at 101 proof, this exquisite and rare dram spent 10 years in oak, and it did it good. It's an all-time favorite of the most demanding Whisky connoisseurs. Naturally, it’s also fittingly hard to find.
