The Fuzzy Trio is joined by a beautiful Swan of a Speyside Single Malt.

Adventures are best when shared. That’s what drove the eponymous Deer, Bear, and Moose all the way up to the idyllic country town of Elgin, Speyside. There, they rendezvoused with the famous local residents, the Swans. They were happy to let them in on a little town secret: Sherry Butt no. 70033914. You see, the premises of the Linkwood distillery are so animal-friendly, the spiders have permanent residence inside the still house for fear that if they leave, the environment that produces outstanding Whisky would never be the same again.

It was all The Trio needed to hear to grab the chance of celebrating their newfound friendship with a delicious 12-year-old Single Malt Scotch — a "duckling turned into a beautiful swan" that came home as the new addition to the range.

It’s not always about great Whisky; it’s also about great friends we make along the way. But it’s mostly about Whisky. Cheers to beautiful Swans, anyway!

Appearance / Color
Light gold with a ruby hue.

Nose / Aroma / Smell
Light as a feather astringent, with sherry, almond, marzipan, apple pie, and oak gently gliding on the surface.

Flavor / Taste / Palate
Beautiful notes of chocolate, gingerbread, apple pie, sherry, and toffee candy. Floral.

Finish
Very long for its age and overwhelming, just like the ending of the Swan Lake ballet — in a good way, obviously. Complex hints of sherry.

I
Ice

I wanted DBM to be something special. I saved this bottle for 3 years because the rest of my DBM collection was "raffle" to buy.
Since there was still availability on Flaviar and it was not raffle, I decided to open it.

At first I enjoyed the dram neat. Its sweetness to the tongue and fruit like flavor quickly went away by what was a strong bite of alcohol.
The second dram was with ice to let the taste mellow some of that bite and I was not displeased. Letting the dram mellow out on the rocks led to a slightly less of a bite and I could enjoy it more on the tongue. A sweet bottle of Uncle Flaviar worth trying. Not happy with the price, id probably prefer a different whisky next time.

This was my first DBM purchase...

This was my first DBM purchase and it may be my last. It was a terrible experience. The heat from the high alcohol content punishes you through the dram. It is generally unpleasant from nose to finish.
