A postcard from Innis Mhearain has arrived - or Inchmurrin for non-Gaelic lads and lassies. Well, it’s more of a delicious travelogue in a bottle, which, through its scent and taste, tells a story of a lonely island in Loch Lomond.

The eponymous distillery was established quite a while ago, in 1814. In 1998, when we were all about Britney and Spice Girls, however, the Highlanders put this exquisite juice in a time capsule of Cask #1993. It waited 21 long years, not minding the world outside, maturing to perfection until it was bottled at 49.95% ABV just for you. Taste another place in another time with this rare offering.

A little bit of peat overpower, wish it would be less.

Ooooh. Not good at all. Way too peaty for my personal tastes (a little surprising based on the flavour profile) and not very smooth for something that's been aged 21 years. This might be the worst bottle of whiskey I've ever had if you consider the price tag!!
