The core of the Daviess County lineup is a blend of one high rye and the one wheated Bourbon — both aged aged four years in new oak.
In a world of super-mega-conglomerates dominating international liquor distribution, Luxco stands out as one of the few larger, family-owned companies. But they have a large footprint. By our count they have 198 Spirit brands and variants across the full spectrum of adult beverages. If you have sipped at a bar or mixed cocktails at home you have had their products. They own five major distilleries, including Distiladora González Lux, Green Hat, Limestone Branch, Lux Row, and MGP. Daviess County Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the core foundation that supports the trio of Daviess County offerings. It is their signature blend of two mash bills — one high rye and the other wheated. The goal of the two mash bills is to strike the perfect balance between sweetness and spice… consistently… every time. Each Spirit is independently aged for four years in new oak prior. Once blended and bottled at 48% ABV, they become not only a very nice sipper, but a perfect daily dram or cocktail base.
Smartass Corner:
The original Daviess Country Distilling was a fixture of Kentucky Bourbon-making in the late 1800s before Prohibition took a whack. Lux Row has revitalized the brand nicely with a trio of offerings.

On the nose you’ll find the tried and true mainstays of American Bourbon — caramel, vanilla, butter toffee, and some rather fragrant cinnamon.
Flavor / Taste / Palate
A bit of wood and rye spice embrace the palate up front, followed by notes of sweetness with apple and peach served on top of a creamy spiced oatmeal.
Finish
The finish is long and drying with a lingering marzipan tone that came out of nowhere.
