The year 1978. Space Invaders launches a computer video game craze, the first test-tube baby is born in the UK, Japanese explorer Naomi Uemura becomes the first person to reach the North Pole in a solo expedition, the first Garfield comic strip debuts in U.S. newspapers. Gold reaches $200.00 per ounce, bell bottoms are still all the rage, and the Dalmore 40YO is born.
Initially aged in white oak, ex-Bourbon casks before being transferred into 30-year-old Oloroso Sherry casks, this exquisite Dalmore is as rich in history as it is in character, with notes of coffee, sultanas, dates, gingerbread, and maple syrup mingling together before a finish full of blood orange and coconut notes.
