The Dalmore 25 Year Old

The dram is a dream.

One of the most prestigious Whisky brands in the world was founded by Alexander Matheson in 1839. It is located on the northern shores of the Firth of Cromarty, deep in the Scottish Highlands. The Dalmore changed owners many times throughout the years, with Clan Mackenzie being in control the longest. Clan Mackenzie is also to thank for Dalmore's signature twelve-pronged stag included on all their bottles. They rightfully pride themselves on their dedication to an unrivalled combination of tradition and creativity, often displayed in their amazing cask wizardry.

The latter is very evident in the Dalmore 25 YO. First matured in American oak, the Whisky is then carefully divided into rare hand-sourced 25 year old sweet Palomino Fino Sherry butts and first fill Bourbon casks. These Whiskies are then married together in Bourbon barrels before being transferred into Tawny Port pipes from Portugal for the finishing. This elaborate cask journey enables the Whisky to develop its incredible depth and complexity.

Every part of the process of making this dram is meticulously thought-out and regulated. The best ingredients, the best equipment, the best barrels and the best blending. Like with many things in life, you only get out what you put in. If Dalmore is Whisky aristocracy, the 25 YO is Louis XIV.
