A cask strength Single Malt from central England bursting with flavor and a love of the Spirit.

Dan Szor was a native New Yorker working in the finance world and living in London — we could make a joke about how that life would drive any man to drink, but that would be too easy. The truth is actually better, because he found himself taking his family to idyllic setting of Cotswold — a land or rolling hills and forests west of Oxford — to break away and relax. He found the perfect spot and combined his love of fine Spirits with his business sensibilities to found Cotswold Distillery in 2014.

Cotswolds Founder's Choice is a Single Malt bottle at cask strength — a blistering 60.9% ABV. The barley was grown on Cotswold farms nearby and malted at Warminster malting. And although we do not have an age statement, we do know the casks are American Red Wine barrels that have been shaved, re-toasted, and charred — a process that brings new live to old wood in deeply meaningful ways if you are a fan of flavor.

Smartass corner:
Dr. Jim Swan has been called “The Einstein of Whiskey.” In a forty-year career, he pioneered the science behind Whiskey-making and developed processes that improved the quality and consistency we all enjoy. He invented the process of shaving and re-charring casks.
