Corgi Cardigan Whiskey

A delicious Whiskey blend from a craft distillery in Jersey City.

Founded in 2017, Corgi Spirits might be based in the creative heart of Jersey City, but their inspo comes from across the channel. Their source of inspiration is the most quintessentially British dog breed; Corgis are feisty, agile, and dependable but also regal and distinguished (Is that the reason they’re the Queen’s favorite breed?) – kind of like Corgi Spirits that thrill your palate and enliven your evenings. This is a family-run, small-batch, and craft distillery – it’s actually the first one and (last time we checked) the only one in Hudson County New Jersey. Their methods are inspired by British distilling traditions and their Spirits are made from potatoes, which means they’re not only extra smooth but also gluten-free.

Corgi Spirits are perhaps most famous for their smoother-than-butter Gin and Vodka, but they also make a darn good Whiskey. Now, don’t get it wrong, Corgi Cardigan Whiskey wasn’t named for the knitted garment with an opening in the front, but rather for a breed of Corgi. It’s a blend of two Whiskeys: a 4YO American barley and Canadian Rye. Aged in ex-Jack Daniels Whiskey and bottled at 90 proof, this smooth blend brings you fruity and sweet flavors, balanced by rye spice and caramel notes. For the more experienced palates among you, you might also pick up a whiff of smoke.
