Scottish blended malt bursting with Spanish passion.
Compass Box isn't a stranger to innovation and adventure. The company was founded in 2000 by John Glaser, a former mad man at Johnnie Walker, and it's been blowing our collective minds ever since. This time, the booze that's making our mouths water is a unique and wild expression of blended malt Scotch called The Spaniard, a lovely mix of Whiskies from Teaninich, Glen Elgin, Deanston and Craigellachie.
Not only were Whiskies in this treasure matured in ex-Sherry casks from Spain, a favorite for many a drinker, but was also in a range of Spanish red wine casks and virgin French oak. That's what we call exquisite! It's deep and complex and quite distinctive. Glaser got an idea for The Spaniard while travelling through Spain, trying their wines and Spirits. He worked on it with The Spaniard bar in Greenwich Village, New York. The result is an explosion of fresh fruit aromas and chocolate flavors.
