Where there's smoke, there's good peaty Compass Box.
The Scotch Whisky maker Compass Box revealed its peatiest Whisky yet and they named it No Name. Which ironically, it means it now has a name. Anyway, this smoky bad boy is peatier than their previous Numero Uno, The Peat Monster, which makes this one The Peat Godzilla? And how did this delicious pleasure come about? The ladies and gents at Compass Box stumbled upon a package of American oak barrels filled with mature, ridiculously peaty Single Malt Whisky, and the only sane thing they could do is create a special limited edition and pour it in sexy black bottles.
And what's hiding in this superb blend? The majority is Malt Whisky produced at Pier Road and housed in re-charred American barrels. That one gives the blend its intense smoke and peat. One tenth is represented by Malt Whisky from Port Askaig; there's slightly more Malt Whisky from Brora in re-charred hogshead, and to top it all off, some Highland Malt Blend aged in heavy toast French oak casks.
Take a sip of this delicious bonfire insanity and feel classy AF.
