Compass Box Magic Cask

A blender of boutique Scotch Whiskies, the Compass Box Whisky Company began as a small ordeal in John Glaser’s kitchen. An American who was inspired by traditional Scotch Whisky blending houses, Glaser hunts for the very best casks from the top distilleries and uses premium oak from the French Vosges or the woods of Missouri to make limited-edition blends. Meticulous and perfectionist, these good folks even make their own custom casks.

Compass Box Magic Cask is probably featured in a dictionary somewhere next to the definition of lush fruitiness and fulness of body. Now, let’s break down the blending magic. A young and robut Speyside Single Malt was rested in first-fill Oloroso seasoned butts from Bodega José y Miguel Martín. Cask numero due proved to be exceptionally tasty. On the other side of the distillery, first-fill Bourbon casks from the closed Imperial Distillery have been sitting for a couple of years. And just like two soulmates, these two liquids found their way to each other and resulted in ecstatic flavors of ripe apples, rich oak, toffee, and cocoa powder.
