Maison Ferrand began as the farm and vineyards of Pierre Ferrand whose family had harvested grapes for ten generations. In 1989 to earn some extra money, Alexander Gabriel set about to contract his business-school education to help the struggling farm pull itself out. Pierre offered him a stake in the business and soon he bought out the entire operation. Since then he has not only thrived, but earned the respect of all the established Cognac houses in the region and expanded to include lines of Spirits from around the world, including Plantation Rum, Claude Chatelier Cognac, Citadelle Gin, and more.

Claude Chatelier VSOP Cognac is a "fine Champaign" Cognac. This means that all of the Spirit is derived from the two primary grape regions of Cognac — Grand and Petite Champaign. Aged for a minimum of four years, it has been said that this particular dram is one of the best examples of terroir expression in an approachable Cognac. We just think it is delicious with a lovely, soft mouth-feel. Even Wine Enthusiast has given it their Highest Recommendation and called it a "best buy."
